Le Garde-Manger

For two people in Le Havre, we recommend this restaurant. Ah, here's a little place away from the hustle and bustle, not big but worth a visit. We ate there one Friday at lunchtime; octopus, among other things. After visiting the Hanging Gardens, we received a warm welcome on the phone, just like when we arrived, with a smile. So, definitely worth a visit.

The welcome is warm, and you quickly sense that the people who run this place put their heart and soul into it. A huge congratulations to the passionate and talented young woman in the kitchen, and to the gentleman in the dining room whose friendliness and good humor make the experience even more enjoyable. As for the menu, the revamped house cocktail is the perfect way to kick things off—original, well-balanced, a real success. The main courses follow brilliantly: homemade fries just the way we like them, and a delicious, melt-in-your-mouth lamb shank. The dessert, also homemade, is simply exquisite—the perfect finishing touch to a flawless meal. What strikes you most is the passion that shines through in every dish, every detail, every interaction. You can feel a genuine desire to do things well, and it's evident from beginning to end. A restaurant I highly recommend and where I will definitely return! 🙌

Discovered thanks to an invitation from my son and daughter-in-law for Mother's Day, I was very pleasantly surprised by the setting and the warm welcome. The entire meal was a real success, with fresh, high-quality ingredients and delicious cuisine. From start to finish, you can feel the desire to do things well, from the initial welcome to the care taken in preparing each dish. The flavors are truly well-crafted and authentic.

The service was impeccable, with a waiter who was very attentive to his customers. The cocktails were excellent, and the dishes were expertly prepared. Try the French toast: you won't be disappointed.

Don't hesitate to try Le Garde-Manger if you have the chance! The food is excellent, the menu changes regularly, and it showcases local produce! Plus, the atmosphere is unique, with paintings by various artists that are constantly being changed on the walls, and the owner is very friendly!
