Increasingly empty, what a shame.

We shop twice a week at the Leclerc in Gonfreville l'Orcher. We're a couple and usually very tolerant, but today I can't stay silent. I'm writing this message hoping that what happened and the information provided at the customer service desk has been properly reported by the woman who assisted us. Indeed, today, after doing our shopping, we went to a checkout (number 17 today) around 3:50 pm, as usual. While the cashier had finished scanning the items for the customer (whom she clearly knew very well), the two of them continued their conversation while we waited. After a few minutes (and it felt like an eternity), seeing our displeasure, the older, blonde cashier finally deigned to attend to our items (not to us, as her manners were nonexistent) while continuing to chat with another customer (whom she knew). So, in fact, while we were putting our things away, the cashier and the customer were talking, and we were caught in the middle, which was unbelievable, intolerable, and utterly disrespectful. After a while, when we asked the other customer if she found the situation normal and respectful, she snickered and mocked us, continuing to talk to the cashier, who showed absolutely no respect for her customers. The customer behind us seemed shocked by the situation. After a few more minutes, with our persistence, and without any malice, the other customer finally left, muttering to us. We pointed this out to the cashier (who couldn't care less and showed no sign of apology). Faced with his completely disrespectful attitude, we openly told him we were going to report it to reception. Heading towards reception, we passed a few meters from a self-checkout where the employee must have witnessed the scene. We asked her, explaining that this was indeed the place to report the incident. She replied, "I know perfectly well who you're talking about" (she didn't seem at all surprised by the cashier). At reception, we were very well received by a woman and recounted everything, stating that it was unacceptable. The woman told us she would pass the information along (which I hope she will). So, if needed, I am available. It's now July 24th, and we've still not been contacted, and there's been no compensation. It's a disgrace.
